For the past few years I have tried to make a scarry pumpkin every halloween. In the past my efforts have been relatively traditional, a scarry face carved into a large gourd. This year, I decided to take a new route. Instead of traditional "big jagged teeth creepy", I decided to try uncanny valley creepy. Basically, things that are close to but not quite human trigger a mechanism in our brains to make us disgusted and creeped out. This probably served some survival purpose in our distant evolutionary past, but now seems to mainly pester video game designers and animators.

Anyway, here is the result you have been waiting for, Jeffery the disturbingly anthropomorphic pumpkin (I don't usually give my creations human nick names, but in this case it just adds a bit to the creepiness factor).
